PODIATRIC EVALUATION
Your foot and body structure or type will determine your function, stance and gait. Some people have flat, flexible feet; some people have high arched, rigid feet. Your feet are your foundation and can affect the way you stand. Flat feet can lead to arch pain in addition to knee and back pain. High arched feet can lead to metatarsal and heel pain. Different foot types develop different foot problems. Most potential deformities can be prevented if we evaluate the foot’s biomechanics early. We can predict which foot types will develop bunions and which will develop hammertoes. We can predict which feet will develop heel spurs and which will have Achilles tendon problems.
We will perform a complete biomechanical and orthopedic evaluation. We will also do a complete gait analysis. We will look to see how you stand and walk. We have extensive experience with the developing child’s foot. We do sports medicine too, as we see athletes and runners.
The developing child’s foot can be guided to grow a healthier arch height and strength when treated early. Active people can avoid “Over-Use Syndrome” with Orthotic Arch Supports and appropriate stretching, strengthening, guidance and therapy. Seniors can function more free from arthritis pain. Diabetics can avoid breakdown in joints and skin with appropriate shoes and arch cushions.
Our long term goal is to attain the best foot, leg and back function possible for you. This will assure you perform better and last longer.
